Dave is the trusted bipartisan leader for our community. As our representative, Dave knows that families are struggling. He passed legislation to lowe the cost of prescription drugs such as asthma inhalers, insulin, and EpiPens. He also worked to end surprise emergency room medical billing. Dave helped eliminate taxes for small businesses and is continuing to fight to fix our upside-down tax code. Looking to the 2027 session, Dave will continue to work closely with local leaders, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement to improve public safety and mental health services. Much of Dave's sponsored legislation is from conversations with constituents--he'll continue to listen and advocate for our priorities.

For 18 years, Dave has served our community at Skagit Valley College, demonstrating strong leadership as an educator. Now, Dave is providing that leadership for our state as the Chair of Postsecondary Education & Workforce Committee. He's improved college affordability by expanding the Washington College Grant and fixed tuition loopholes that were hurting veterans and military families. Over the last 2 years, the state has cut postsecondary education budgets despite increased revenues from the Workforce Education Investment Act. This is unacceptable. Dave led efforts to create the Higher Education Caucus and will continue to work to reverse these harmful cuts. Giving all members of the community the opportunity to achieve their potential has always been a priority--he'll continue to lead this work in the 2027 session.
